If you have not had a chance to go to one of these, let me tell you AMAZING!!! Last weekend I attended my very first (of many to come) Run For Your Lives 5K zombie infested obstacle course. Part running, part screaming,
definitely getting dirty! SOooo much fun. Curious, I risked life and limb to check things out. So here’s what I found…
I’ve never ran a 5K before and figured I was outta my league. Not the case, there were all sorts of people, all ages, all shapes and sizes having more fun than I thought possible in the mud. Normal people came in costume and stood in line for professional makeup, which transformed them into undead creatures worthy of the word ZOMBIE.
The runners came in running gear, some armed with Twinkies with the task of surviving said zombies, mud pits, barbwire, low crawls and did I mention blood thirsty zombies?
The runners left in waves every 30 min, and while waiting for their opportunity to run f or their life,
were entertained by a MC armed with music, games, and t-shirt giveaways who kept the party roiling all day.
I wimped out this year and just took pictures, but next year I will be right there in the thick of things, my only quandary will be…Mud or Blood?
