Whether you are talking about your career, relationship or chasing your dreams…when was the last time you left your 'comfort zone'? We all get stuck there from time to time. The trick is to recognize it and do something bold to break it's hold on you.
Think about this... what was the last thing you did that really got your heart racing? And I don’t mean swerving to avoid the jerk next to you texting as he drifts into your lane.
I am talking about something you did on purpose that was so out of your norm, it changed your day, your week or your life?

Everyone, from a housewife juggling kids’ schedules, to an author juggling a day job as well as deadlines (I’ve been both) can be transformed simply by taking a deep breath and leaping into the unknown. The courageous act elevates you and opens new possibilities.

I have three...they are extreme but sometimes it takes "extreme" to break the ties that bind us to our lot in life.
1.) Love life in a rut?
Take a naked selfie and text it to your husband. I don't care how old or plump or out of shape or... NO! Just do it...Bam! All he will see is the hot wife he married paying attention to him.
2.) Career Stuck in Neutral?
Write a memo about a solution you see that would benefit the company and SEND it to your supervisor, depending on the structure of your company, the CEO. Be Brave! Get on their radar as an employee who sees the solution, not just the problem.
3.) My favorite...Your Dream stalled out?
Strap on your seat belt for this one.
Tell people you ARE a ....(fill in the blank), not aspiring to be whatever it is. Just because you don't know every detail of the industry, doesn't make you a novice. Anyone worth their weight in salt knows there is always room to grow.
Here is the creamy center of truth; As soon as I said I was a writer, my attitude changed...not the world's...mine.
All of a sudden the selfie portrait I took for a bio pic seemed unworthy. I needed a professional one and I found a way to get it on the super cheap. Just because I had transcended my rut did not mean my pocket book had. But I found a way. And if you have been following my blog, you know that I took it to the extreme by having Pin up pics taken. Crazy, I know...but it was one bold act that led to another and another. No more comfort zone for me. And yes that has equated into book sales and my dreams coming true.
