Being a t-shirt and tennis shoes kind of gal, these shoes were a needless splurge. They were on clearance and although I had stepped in to the store for something entirely differnt, they called out to me. Being I am a girl as I keep reminding my house full of men, I stopped and tried on a bunch of shoes. They are so pretty but usually hurt as soon as I slip them on. These did not. They fit and I was able to walk across the store in them. Hummm. Do I dare? And I thought of my last blog "Sexy is as Sexy does." I spent the $15 dollars and promised myself I would find a place to wear them, even if only once.
Well, just because they were pretty and comfortable doesn't make me instantly know how to walk in 4 inch heels, I can barely walk in 2 inch heels. So, as I would hate to break a promise to myself on a technicality, I have been practicing wearing them around the house when no one was home. Last night my husband caught me wearing them while making dinner. Still jeans and a t-shirt, but amazing shoes.
He couldn't keep his eyes or his hands off me, and I realized, I don't have to dress up and be an amazing diva with perfect hair and a perfect figure to seduce my husband of 20 years. It's the little things. A simple pair of heels, and prancing around once I realized I had caught his eye was all it took. And although I have decided to wear the heels to a christmas party with my jeans even if I am the only one there with heels on, I may just cook dinner in heels more often as well.
