Naturally, dragons being of magical nature tended to do as they pleased, which often left the humans whom they came into contact with in misery.
Marcos was neither dragon, nor human.
His mother came to his father in a dream much like Morgan did to Arthur. A winged beauty to behold among her kind, his mother was ethereal and majestic like no other.
But when she took human form in a dream, such was her beauty, no man could resist her. Why would they? To them she was merely an angelic apparition.
Until his mother met his father.
A man of unusual character, he seduced the dragon. And although she could not take human form in the realm of reality, she came to him every night in the dream realm. In those passion filled nights, he tamed the beast within her. She surrendered to him in every fashion a woman could, until she finally surrendered her heart.
Marcos was born of their union, and as a child he stayed with his mother, until the first time he shifted into human form. Considered an abomination, his mother’s people forced her to exile the child, for which she was all too willing to do, least he be eaten while she was not looking. His father raised him well, despite the incidents and strange sightings by local villagers. Marcos grew up witness to a bittersweet love and the sacrifice that comes from an unnatural union.
Each day he became stronger and more handsome, but the need to hide his magical nature left him with no taste for the haughty milk maids that flaunted their curves his way. The desire of the beast within lured Marcos to much darker cravings, ones that required a certain type of woman to fulfill.
When his father died Marcos left the village. Unwilling to give up either part of himself, he could not return to his mother’s people, nor could he stay. Forced to find his own way Marcos led a solitary life that would last the centuries his mother’s people lived.
He allowed very few into his keep. Necessary duties were performed by those humanity cast aside, those only too happy to serve a recluse master who left them alone more often than not. Thusly, Marcos had few connections, which left him free to fly away to some undiscovered place when the wind called to him. And to sate his unusual carnal needs? Well, he’d come up with a plan for that too…
